According to falstaff, one of Vienna's top 20 most popular clubs.
Stepping into a good bar is akin to entering a magical realm. It’s an escape from what we call reality, leading into a dimly lit counter-world that has its own sense of urgency. Drinks shimmer seductively, the lighting is soft, music ranges from soulful to enticing, and human interaction offers both solitude for dreamers at the bar and opportunities for lively conversation.
Taking Bar Culture to the Next Level.
A multi-channel gastro concept of the highest standard is coming to one of Vienna‘s most beautiful streets, near the Danube Canal, welcoming not just the Viennese scene in 2020. The two experienced club legends, Heinz Tronigger and Hennes Weiss, are responsible for creating Praterstrasse, a new hotspot that expands Vienna’s bar culture with an innovative, all-encompassing package and cosmopolitan flair.
Gastronomy Meets ART.
Three famous generations of Austrian artists come together to make a statement. Brigitte Kowanz, the doyenne of beautiful light objects and a world-renowned artist who represented Austria at the Venice Biennale, provides the necessary aesthetic impulse with her work “Introduction” and integrates it perfectly into the design concept. Martin Grandits demonstrates that intergenerational collaboration with his former professor can be both harmonious and contradictory. The lounge named after him brings street credibility to new levels, combining „Wiener Schmäh“ with international artistic understanding. Hubert Scheibl completes the concept with a work (Oil on Canvas, ONES, 2019/2020) that requires refined sensibility and an aesthetic understanding of space, light, and colours. All three have influenced club culture in their time and are presented together in this constellation for the first time. (© Ema Kaiser, Art Curator)
Club Atmosphere with an International Music Program.
Under Vienna´s unique hybrid concept, the venue transforms from a morning espresso spot, a place for lunch and takeaway, an afternoon café, into an after-work cocktail bar, and from 9:00 PM into a night location with a specially designed "room-in-room" (including special noise-cancelling) back room with a dance floor. A dedicated curator team, with extensive music knowledge—from soul, jazz, and hip-hop to house and techno—takes care of curated playlists, special event formats, and international DJs on the weekends. The goal is to create a new cultural hotspot in Vienna that welcomes everyone—from young to old, conservative to artsy.
