Activation and Validation
Download the Vienna Welcome Card-app to your phone. Then transfer your card via the link in the confirmation e-mail or by entering your code to the app.
Before your first journey on public transport, you must activate your Vienna Welcome Card by using the “activate now” feature and by entering your name and e-mail address.
Yes, you can bind up to 10 cards with one device.
Attractions
No, you cannot visit the same attraction multiple times.
The cardholder is entitled to one visit per attraction, regardless of the card type.
Additional visits are not possible with the same card.
Several of our partners offer the opportunity to buy discounted tickets via the Vienna Welcome Card-app.
The Vienna Welcome Card-app will link you to our discount partner's webshop and you can purchase your discounted ticket. Your discounted ticket will be sent to you by our partner, and you can use it straight away or later.
In the discount menu, you will find an overview of all our partners and their discounts. Partners who offer an option to make direct bookings, are marked in the list.
Select the partner and you will be linked to their webshop, where you will either find an already reduced price or you will have to paste a discount code. Please note that you purchase your tickets from the partner in their web shop.
You have purchased two Vienna Welcome Cards and want to move one card to a different device?
Follow these steps:
- Open your Vienna Welcome Card-app
- Go to My ticket
- Push Transfer ticket
- A QR-code pops up which can be scanned with a different phone. Ensure that the app has been installed prior.
- The transfer is completed, and the Vienna Welcome Card can now be used on the other device.
With a Vienna Welcome Card, you can visit as many attractions as you want in one day - there are no limits.
Please note, however, that the Vienna Welcome Card entitles the cardholder to only one visit per attraction; and redeeming only one discount per partner, regardless of the card type.
Repeat visits or multiple redemptions of discounts are not possible with the same card.
The more attractions you visit and take advantage of discounts, the more money you can save.

No, the Vienna Welcome Card is only valid for one person, for a certain period (24h, 48h, 72h or 7 days) and includes public transport in Vienna as well as discounts for our partners.
Children aged 0 to 6 always travel free on public transport; children under 15 travel free during Vienna's school holidays.
Most discount partners offer either free admission for children, children's, or youth tickets. Please ask on-site to get the best possible price.
You will receive a link via e-mail to your digital card.
After you have downloaded the free Vienna Welcome Card-app, you can transfer the card to your phone by opening the link. Then you need to enter your name, your e-mail address, and active the card.
The card is valid immediately and you can use public transport and all discounts.
Purchase
You can purchase the Vienna Welcome Card by DocLX from your PC or mobile phone.
Choose from the options 24h, 48h, 72h, or a 7-days-card, as well as the 72h ToGo-card.

Upgrade your Vienna Welcome Card by DocLX with optional add-ons:

Big Bus Hop-On Hop-Off for the entire duration of your card (72h for the 7-days-card)
Download the App
Download the Vienna Welcome Card-app from the App Store or Google Play.
Once you have completed your purchase, you will receive an e-mail with the link to your card (and your card code).
If you purchased from a reseller, redeem your given code in the Vienna Welcome Card-app.
Activate
By clicking the link, you transfer the card to the app. You can also enter your card code manually to transfer your Vienna Welcome Card by DocLX to the app.
Once you want to use public transport, you must activate the Vienna Welcome Card by DocLX in the app. To do this, enter your name and e-mail address and activate the card for immediate use.
If you want to use public transport later, the next day, or the following week, you can activate your card at the time of your choice as explained above.
In any case, ensure to activate your card before your first ride by public transport.
Make Use of Your Discounts
With an active Vienna Welcome Card by DocLX, you have access to all discounts and offers of our partners.
You can either book directly via the app in our partners' webshops or redeem them on-site when purchasing your discounted tickets.
Yes. Please contact us during office hours from Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on +43 1 370 7000-22 or send an e-mail to info@viennawelcomecard.at. We will remove the card from your mobile phone. You can then add your Vienna Welcome Card to a different device.
The Vienna Welcome Card does not offer any special rates for disabled people, seniors, students or group travelers.
A combination with other cards such as student ID, Lower Austria Card, disabled ID or similar is not possible.
Many partners offer reduced admissions for disabled people, seniors, students, pupils, or group travelers. Please ask on-site.
The Vienna Welcome Card includes the ticket for public transport in Vienna, including Nightline buses (except the ToGo-option, which does not include public transport).
Underground, tram, bus, train, express train and Badner Bahn in Vienna's core zone.
Discounts are available mobility partners such as e-scooters, bicycles, e-mopeds, e-bikes, taxis, fiakers, ships, and rickshaws.

Purchase
Yes, you can also buy the card in advance and activate it later.
Before your first public transport journey, you can easily and quickly activate your Vienna Welcome Card at any time using the “activate now” feature in the app.
The Vienna Welcome Card is a digital product and is only available in the Vienna Welcome Card-app.
In Vienna, tickets are not scanned and there are no turnstiles or barriers to accessing public transport.
It cannot be determined whether a ticket was used or not. A refund is therefore not possible.

The Vienna Welcome Card is valid in Vienna's core zone for 24h, 48h, 72h, or 7 days from activation. Travels on underground, bus, tram, rapid train services, Badner Bahn and Nightline buses are inlcuded.
There are no tickets for 96h (4 days), 120h (5 days) or 144h (6 days).

A Vienna Welcome Card is valid for one person only.

The hop-on hop-off tour is valid for the entire duration of your Vienna Welcome Card and can be used additionally to your public transportation card (72 hours with the 7-day-card).

The Airport Transfer includes a retourn ticket (from the airport to Vienna and back). To redeem your ticket you must have an actived Vienna Welcome Card.
The Vienna Welcome Card without CAT Airport Transfer does NOT include the journey from the airport or to the airport.
