CAT: From the airport to the city
If you travel to Vienna by plane, the City Airport Train (CAT) takes you from the airport to the city center in no time at all. The CAT takes you directly from the airport to the Wien Mitte S-Bahn station in just 16 minutes, without any annoying stops. The train runs every 30 minutes and you can buy your ticket conveniently online or directly at the station at the airport. Badner Bahn: from Opernring to Baden
The Badner Bahn is a traditional streetcar line operated by Wiener Lokalbahnen, which connects Vienna with the Lower Austrian city of Baden. It runs from Vienna's Opernring to Baden, passing through numerous Viennese suburbs along the way. Particularly practical: the Badner Bahn runs at frequent intervals and allows you to travel flexibly in both Vienna and Baden. Tickets are available online and at Badner Bahn stations. We can also warmly recommend a day trip to Baden: The famous Casino Baden, the Römertheme and the Beethovenhaus, which is well worth seeing, await you there. Or you can take a stroll through the Kurpark Baden, which is ideal for a relaxing afternoon with its well-tended gardens, old trees and picturesque walking paths.
Lime: the flexible solution with e-scooters
The international provider Lime offers a practical way to get around with its e-scooters. As in many other cities, the electronic scooters can also be found in Vienna and are ideal for covering shorter distances in a comfortable and environmentally friendly way. The rental works according to the so-called free-floating model, i.e. not tied to a specific station: The app for Android and iOS is used to search for an e-scooter in the vicinity, reserve it or rent it directly and park it after use. Billing is by the minute, plus a basic price per ride. Lime scooters are perfect for spontaneously cruising through the city, avoiding traffic jams and discovering the city up close.

When it comes to public transport, you really can't fool the city, which is why the Vienna Welcome Card also gives you discounts on the Wiener Linien. You will find a ticket machine at every subway station and you can buy tickets in all vehicles. You can choose between different tickets, depending on whether you are traveling in Vienna for 24 hours, seven days or just one trip. The WienMobil app is particularly useful, as you can also use it to buy tickets, plan routes and view delays. Are you looking in vain for the U5 between the U1, U2, U3, U4 and U6 lines? Don't worry, you don't have tomatoes on your eyes: the realization of subway line 5 was only recently started and its completion will take a few more years.
